This has been a best seller for years. We use Organic Butters and Oils as a base; starting with a rich 80%+ shea body butter that is formulated to be non-comedogenic and soothing, we then whip in Magnesium Brine directly from the Netherlands. Magnesium has a ton of benefits that Etsy would rather I not talk about here as it borders on medical claims. Buuuut, I can share some medical data I found really interesting. 

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5389641/ - If you don't speak jargon, they basically say the transdermal format (cream) showed an increase in overall magnesium levels in testing, but they need to do more testing. The cream used in the study had 56mg Magnesium.

The RDA of 3 – 4 mg of magnesium per pound of body weight, every day. A 200 lb person would need a total of 600 to 900 mg of magnesium daily, from diet and supplements combined. A 150 lb individual would need between 450 and 600 mg, in total.

The nice thing is, there is no digestive upset with topical magnesium and your body regulates absorption. The brine comes from an ocean and you should think about Magnesium Brine much like ocean water. You cannot absorb too many minerals or salts from the ocean, in the same way your skin regulates absorption of Magnesium salt; making this almost time-release. 

Application Quick : Apply directly to areas of discomfort (aches & pains), apply to belly and backs of knees & feet for absorption before bed, and apply to bottoms of feet for those under 6 years of age.

1mL = 30drops

1mL Magnesium Cream contains 118.15mg Elemental Magnesium

5ml Magnesium Cream = 1 tsp = 590.73mg Elemental Magnesium (12 applications per 2oz/60mL)

2.5ml Magnesium Cream = 1/2 tsp = 1 blueberry size scoop = 295.37mg Elemental Magnesium (24 applications per 2oz/60mL)

RDA  (Recommended Daily Allowance)

(These are values for Internal Magnesium from food or supplements and only loosely apply for topical. Your body is able to flood the system with topical magnesium and absorb it through the skin, sending the magnesium where it is needed or lacking. When you take the supplement, it ends up in your colon where is does the same muscle relaxing it is known for...there, in your colon ;-/... So.... they keep the values low in order to prevent daily unpleasantness. I say all of this to say; you can apply an entire jar of magnesium cream to your belly, back, elbows...wherever, and never have any digestive side effects because this is absorbed differently. So, if you apply 1/2 tsp to your leg and it is still cramping after 15 minutes, feel free to keep applying more until you have relief. You cannot over-do it. Always allergy patch test, while you cannot be allergic to a mineral (magnesium) you can have sensitivity to the other ingredients, like Shea Nut Butter.)

Contraindications :Always Allergy Patch test, Avoid Eye Contact, Do not Apply to broken or damaged skin. Magnesium Chloride is a salt. I do not personally apply this to my face, rather use this more like a foot cream.
